Three New Ways Pool Makes Shared Money Easier
Recurring deposits, instant transfers, and invitation controls with Pool

Pool is built for money with a purpose: a house fund, shared family expenses, a side project, or anything else that deserves its own account.
As you’ve started using Pool for more of these purposes, you’ve also told us where managing that money could be easier. You asked for a simpler way to keep a Pool funded, faster access to money when timing matters, and more control over what someone can do when they join.
Keep your Pool funded with recurring deposits
A Pool often works best when everyone can contribute consistently. But remembering to move money every week or month creates another task and one missed transfer can disrupt the plan.
You can now schedule a weekly or monthly recurring deposit from your linked bank account.
- Contribute regularly to pay rent with roommates
- Build toward a large shared purchase
- Set aside money for recurring bills or expenses
- Keep a Pool funded for your nanny or au pair
- Make steady progress toward a savings goal
Once the schedule is set, the contribution happens automatically. You stay in control with the option to skip the next deposit or cancel the schedule at any time from your Pool settings.
This feature came directly from customers who wanted Pool to require fewer manual transfers and less ongoing coordination. The goal is simple: decide how much you want to contribute, set the schedule, and let Pool handle the repetition.
Send money to your bank in seconds
Standard bank transfers work well when there’s no rush. But sometimes you need access to money sooner.
You can now choose Instant when sending money from Pool to your bank. When available, the money arrives in seconds instead of following the standard transfer timeline.
- A shared expense needs to be reimbursed right away
- Plans change and money needs to be returned quickly
- You need to move unused funds back to your bank
- Timing matters more than waiting for a standard transfer
Instant transfers may not be available for every bank. When a fee applies, Pool will show it before you confirm the transfer, so you can decide whether the speed is worth the cost. Standard transfers remain available for free.
Customers told us that getting money into a Pool was only part of the experience. Getting it back out quickly can be just as important. Instant transfers provide that option while keeping the free standard route available.
Choose someone’s role before they join
Different people may need different levels of access to a Pool.
Someone managing a household fund may need to add members and oversee account activity. Someone helping with purchases may only need the ability to spend. Someone else may simply need visibility into the balance and transaction history.
You can now assign one of three roles when sending an invitation:
Admin for people who need broader control over the Pool and its members.
Spender for people who need to use the Pool’s funds without managing the account.
Viewer for people who need visibility without the ability to move or spend money.
The selected role is applied automatically when the person accepts the invitation. You no longer need to invite someone first and adjust their access afterward.
This update came from customers who wanted invitations to reflect the way their groups actually work. Assigning the right role from the beginning makes expectations clearer and reduces extra setup for the person managing the Pool.
Built from your feedback
These updates solve different problems, but they share the same source: conversations with the people using Pool.
Your feedback helps us understand not just which features are missing, but where managing shared money still requires too much remembering, waiting, or coordination. That input directly shapes what we build and how we prioritize it.
So please keep it coming.
