Our Waitlist is Gone, Pool is Officially Live!
The next generation of shared money management is now available, learn more about Pool.

Pool is officially live
Today, Pool is officially live. We’ve taken down the waitlist, and anyone (18+, US-based) is welcome to sign up. We’ve learned so much from our Pilot and making improvements and changes to the product every day.
What we learned during the pilot
Initially we focused our efforts on building the best multi-user account. During our Pilot, we learned that while multiple members was an important part of the product, what people liked most was that that Pool was meant to be used for something specific. Some dedicated purpose with its own dedicated space. It could be some ephemeral, transient one-month project, or a decade-long house fund.
We used to balance our checkbooks. It was tedious, but at least we knew where every dollar went. That practice became archaic and nothing replaced it.
Why dedicated spaces matter
Checking accounts became a junk drawer: money flies in and out each month and we hope for the best. That works for a while, but at some point there's money that needs to be shared or tracked for a dedicated purpose. Pool is the silverware drawer. A dedicated account for one purpose, with clear roles, and a place for everything.
What people are using Pool for
People have been using Pool for various cases, here are a few of them:
- Shared house expenses
- DIY summer Shakespeare play
- A nanny share
- A community snow plow
- Co-parenting with an ex
- A classroom fund
- A renovation project
- Roommate expenses
- An aging parent and more
The list is long. For these ongoing shared expenses, the ideal product isn’t a spreadsheet, a P2P account, or fundraising link. It’s a dedicated place to hold the money, add members with distinct roles, set clear rules, and issue cards for spending.
It’s not only about multiple members, or only about rules, or only about a dedicated purpose. It’s all of them working together to solve a consumer’s problem.
During Pool’s Pilot, we managed accounts from two to five figures a month in overall volume, and we love serving small and large uses alike.
What makes Pool different
Pool is different from a regular checking account in the following ways:
- Multiple members can view, deposit, and spend from the Pool
- Personal cards for any approved member eliminate the need for reimbursements
- Set spending rules and permissions per Pool for peace of mind
- Easily set up and invite others in minutes
Sharing money and resources is important. Building tools to make that easier is why Pool exists.
Built for many
“Built for many” is something we really believe in: many people, many uses, many Pools. Better collaborative tools around money means we will all share more of it. More shared money leads to more shared ownership, shared dreams, and shared lives.
This is what we’re building and we look forward to sharing more with you soon.
